That price would be hard to justify for a fuzz pedal. Just my opinion.

I know it's all handmade and carefully painted but component count is pretty small (although some bits are NOS)
Of course to get an original (which might not work very well anyway by now) would be equally pricey

I remember thinking i was mad in 1987 for spending £80 back on a RAT pedal

I do really want a fuzz pedal at the moment but don't want to spend loads of money on it - the Zvex Fuzz Factory is also pretty expensive for what you get. Maybe BYOC is the way to go.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I have a D*A*M Meathead and it's an absolutely fantastic pedal.

None of their normal output is remotely that expensive, these are one offs.

Though a lot of their pedals do rcket to daft prices on ebay as there is quite a wait on some of them, brand new my Meathead was just over a hundred I think, maybe just below, similar to my Z.Vex FF anyway and there's not even a comparison in quality, the D*A*M kicks it's arse up and down the road.

To answer the question though, no, it isn't worth that, unless you're excited by it being a one off "art" piece.

i can see a 1 off being worth what ever someone will pay, and think its funny he made an issue of censoring the boobs only to place the pedal on a picture with a boob in it

but this one got me

Sue built the BYOC Tone Bender II ESV last weekend, very nice fuzz pedal for £50!

No chance I would ever pay that. That finish isn't even that great. I could probably paint that, not like it's some amazing art, it's just a dodgy picture painted on there.

Is pretty funny he censored the cartoon boobs and its sitting on a bunch of pictures of real boobs.

How $%&#ing much?!  :o  In my opinion, that isn't worth £500. No way. You can buy a half decent amp for less than that, to say nothing of a guitar.

Nothing wrong with strip board, it's pretty low noise and easy to work with. If he can charge that much for something that cost maybe £30 in parts, i could make a fortune with knock of pedals made on my dining room table!

Currently standing at £901.30 with over a day to go.

I was going to say what I usually do - that an item's "worth" whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.  But £900 for a pedal is, frankly, insane.  :|

haha,

in no way could I see that being justified, here's a list of much better things you could do with that money-

-a zvex fuzz factory for 1/3 or 1/4 the price
-a devi-ever fuzz for 1/10 the price
-down payment on a custom guitar
-down payment on a house
-a manson modified squier with built in fuzz factory
-a Ibanez JEM
-anAmerican Standard Strat
-a Princeton Reverb reissue
-just a few more bones and you could get a soldano astroverb

the list goes on......................... some of his pedals are so much more expensive than that one you could almost pay off a custom Legra  8)
