New tune - Cold Sweats into an Axe FX
« on: November 22, 2008, 08:16:11 AM »
Tried a bunch of new shite on this one... new Axe tone that blends a Diezel & Powerball to get an almost-Invader sound, changed from mastering with a C4 & L2 to using Gclip, switched to the Superior 2 kick from the old superior kick, tried to get a louder mix.. but stopped before it got as loud & bright as a bulb mix.

This is what I ended up with. Has some rough edges, and is about half as long as I would like. but without vocals, it gets pretty boring, so I figured I'd just shorten it up for instrumental purposes. So if it seems abrupt, its because half of the tune is missing :) All guitar & bass parts are 100% Axe, and everything is my SLS3 with bridge & neck cold sweats EXCEPT for one background layer that plays for 5 seconds. That's my COW7 with a Blackout tuned to F# or something.

very nice riff, even if nu metal is not my style... great tone in the main riff, it has almost a mesa feel...
i don't like very much the middle part, the "wave" effect you used makes it sound very confused... i'd have preferred it dry - and that's strange for me, i tend to over-process sounds, usually!  :)
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)
