« on: November 26, 2008, 12:39:56 AM »
i noticed bare knuckles one of the few companies that doesnt make any blade pups........if they did, how would you imagine theyed sound? i think bare knuckles 100% perfect the way they are but itd also be cool to see a new pup aded to the contemporary series with 2 blades to destroy the Dimebucker and X2N and even the bill lawrences.......maybe named the "trendkill" or "new found power".....yeah

I have talked with Tim about this  following request from my customers.    He explained to me that blades work best with ceramic magnets and the more traditional design sounds better.  Pole pieces are more adjustable and work better with various bobbin types and magnet options.

My opinion is that a well crafted pickup like a BKP just doesn't need this sort thing.  Blades are another example of pickup technology introduced to compensate for the quality drop of mass produced pickups.  Blender mods are another example.  You just don't need this with a BKP.  This is my opinion.  Probably could have left it at Tims technical info but I always gotta try to open a can of worms....:)

im qutie a fan of blade pickups.. i currently have an X2N in the bridge of my flying V... ive had a dimebucker, lawrence L500L and played an old ibanez stock blade pickup from the 80s... i like how they react harmonically.. they are very bright though...

Id like for a BK option to be avaliable, but its tims decision.. if he thinks/knows that it woudn't be benicial then its not going to happen
