I had a bridge Cold Sweat lying around, so I decided to try it in a Gibson Les Paul (mahogany body + maple top) through a Diezel Einstein.
Comparing it with the stock pickup (Burstbucker #2) the CS sounds much bigger and fatter. It excels on heavier stuff. It feels like a wall of sound crashing down while being smoother, meaning less spikey.
But for some things like AC/DC or ZZ Top it seems that so much fatness is a drawback if that makes any sense.
I can't seem to get the same definition or harmonic content as I do with the stock pickup.
So I would like to try a BKP which is more in the vein of the Burstbucker #2.
I don't want a vintage specific pickup, but rather something all-around that can go from AC/DC to Metallica, but no need for much heavier. No need for any softer either, since I usually play that in the neck pickup (Mule).
I'm leaning towards Holy Diver. I read that it resembles the JB which I really like in Les Pauls.
Any suggestions ?
