NGD-Tom Anderson Hollow T DROPTOP
« on: December 03, 2008, 08:41:59 PM »

any TA lovers out there??love this baby-the pickup config. is a blast-can assign pups as series or parallel-each pup has 3 way toggle-can split coil..turn pup off...and a "blower" switch-automatically switches to bridge pup at full volume, regardless to what the other pups are doing-can dial in a groovy tone on the neck pup, hit the blower for full tilt volume-awesome cleans-very versatile-NECK IS SWEET...Buzz Feiten tuning(sp??)-It is my modern tele!

I have a bit of a phobia of multiple mini-switches, although the blower switch sounds a useful escape route.

But other than that, what a beauty!  :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

^ yeah, that kicks ass. I've never been able to try a TA, but if it's similar in quality to suhr, tyler, nik huber etc. (and i don't see why it wouldn't be, they seem to be held in the same regard) it's probably awesome.

Definitely a fan of HSH pickup setups, I don't see why more companies don't use it, i suspect it's because it's too strongly associated with the 80s... throwing the baby out with the bathwater kind of thing. :( similar thing to people not giving some 80s music a chance because of the clothes... it doesn't really stand up to any logic...

that blower switch sounds like a cool idea- i like the principle of having loads of switches to sculpt the tone, but then i always get confused and can't get back to the bridge pickup on full as quickly as i'd like to...

very true on switches..I am a Les Paul guy..doesnt get much easier...but after an afternoon of doodling around, it is quite easy-serious clean combos so far..a lot of Hendrix/Vaughn voodoo goin' on between the humbucking neck and middle single coil-me like so far!

Looks cool but too many switches for me, I'd have the 'blower' switch on all the time and not touch the rest. Great modern Tele though, bet it does lots of cool things.

That is a handsome looking device alright. The switches would terrify me a little intially, but I'm sure I'd learn to live with them.

THANKS FOR COMPLIMENTS-got a great deal..guy didnt know what he had...didnt care, either!T Anderson puts out a limited number of  guitars each year out of a shop with 17 workers-a great guy who got his start working for Schecter building pickups-a sweet neck -cant wait to weigh it-it is a hollow guitar that feels so balanced and sooo much different than my ballbuster Les Paul Custom!!!
