Phase reversal button - Jimmy Page style(ish)
« on: December 07, 2008, 06:27:12 PM »
I have my old Gibson which has two mini switches.
One splits each coil, however I want to revert the original switch back to master coil tap, and add a push button in the spare slot to put the two pickups out of phase with each other.

After looking into it, I think I want a: DPDT push push on/on latching mini button - any advice as to where I could find one of these, if not, what are my options?

I assume I could do this with 3 conductor wire? (hot - coil short wire - ground)

Thanks

Ok, so... people don't want to answer that type of question.

IF it were to be a push pull, that would be DPDT? Other than that, I think I am sure, would just like some comfirmation here.

Thanks... In advance ;)

Wish I could help mate, but electronics ain't my thing.  I would try over at the Project guitar forum as they have some good electronics people over there that could probably help.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

this is the closest i can find:

on that the switches are attached to the pots  as push/pull pots but that doesnt really matter as long as you use two DPDT switches

Thanks, looks do-able with my 3core wire, and the type of switch looks similar.

I think it would be cooler with dual buttons, just hit it and it changes.
Those ones look like they would fit under the pickguard JP style, and I am sure it will be easy to find some normal button types
