Posting replies in Seconds Out and Gallery
« on: January 03, 2009, 09:35:25 AM »
Well, it is likely to come up sometime.
Anyone want to discuss the Pro's and Con's of it?

I personally preferred the tidy look before the change

+1

I don't think it does much harm in Seconds Out, as extra info/pics can be added (but maybe it's only relevant to a potential buyer, so it could be done by PM anyway).

But I must admit I get irritated (in a childish sort of way) every time someone resurrects a 3 year old thread in the Gallery to say dude, that looks awesome.

I think the Gallery should be locked too.  Second's out doesn't bother me one way or another.

I'd also say that the Gallery should be locked to us mere mortals and left to the BKP guys to post official pictures. There are plenty of other opportunities for us all to spout our wisdom.

It's stupid. Don't post in them. You can talk about it elsewhere on the forum. One person replies and half a million sheep just come along.

For the Seconds Out part, just PM the user.

I say people should be able to start new threads in Gallery to show their pictures, but nobody should be allowed to reply.

the gallery is a mess now, i always saw it as an official gallery of pics.  I say return it to how it was.  The seconds out, If it could be made that only the thread author can post in it to bump it/add pics and info that would be good.. the discussion should be kept in PMs

But there's already a thread for that.

I have to disagree with all of you and say the ability to post in Seconds Out will be of great benefit. Over in Bass Chat you can post on them in there and it's a lot easier if someone else has already asked the question you have in mind.

And then you'd have a stickied thread which is totally impossible to navigate?
