Hey everyone,
well i've been saving up my money for a while now, and finally have enough for me to consider putting good pickups in my guitar. right now i have a total of $290 U.S. dollars. I was thinking about putting a warpig in the bridge in the bridge and mule in the neck position. I finally took some pictures of my custom made carvin and that is the guitar that the pickups will be going into.

I just wanted to make sure that the pickups will fit me well. So can people tell me if the warpig and mule combo will fit my styles. I do a balance of shred metal and Heavy metal, and so i need a lot of gain and clarity from the bridge pickup. I like the tone to focus around the midrange and have a tight bass response along with a lot of low end chunk. But for soloing with the pickup i need it to sound fat on the top end with lots of definition. I balance my shred and Heavy stuff pretty equally so i need the bridge to do both.

From the neck pickup i just want a nice open neck pickup with lots of character and a vowel like response. I really like slash's neck pickup tone and i'm guessing that the mule will get me pretty close.

Will the pickups balance well? Oh and by the way my guitar is in my signature.

sounds like those pickups are excatly what you want, though i'm not sure if they'll balance well. in saying that, i've read a few harmony central reviews of people with the warpig/mule combo and they seems to have had no problems.

I might be tempted with a miracle man set. I just swapped a Miracle Man neck for the old Stormy Monday I had in a Charvel, the Stormy gave me some great tones, but failed to balance well against the beefy Miracle Man bridge. What I was suprised with is how juicy and smooth the neck tone from a miracle man was, not as open as the old Stormy, but very full and clear. Think Vinny Moore, and a touch of Slash.

The Bridge has a more focused bass and more low mid than the warpig, Miracle Man is a sonic smart bomb precise, where as the Warpig's a bit like napalm........brutal :twisted:

I think the Miracle Man would be a better choise for you. It's a better shredder and perfect for heavy metal like Ozzy, Maiden etc. The bass is tighter too. The Warpig is an excellent chugger.

well as much as i like the bands you mentioned, thats not the tone i'm looking for. I want something sounding like newer metal that has come out, like slipknot or black label society or lamb of god or slayer(god hate us all era). When i say Heavy metal, i mean everything just shy of death metal, and sometimes i even venture there.

By the way if i was to get a set of warpigs with gold covers and a custom engraving, how much more will it cost. Can someone give it to me in terms of us dollars?

I think custom engraving is £25.

The miracle man has a lot of tones available, Ithink Ratrod and I were going on your sound description. But for the more modern side of the tone it could be better to stick with the Warpig. :twisted:

True. Warpigs can do an excellent Slipknot. Check out my Suicide track I did in the players section for drop tuned BLS mayhem.
