Best thing to take one guitar input and make 4 outputs
« on: January 06, 2009, 11:37:42 AM »
Like it says

Chain signal splitters?
Headphone amp?
What?

The outputs have to go into modellers, amps, preamps, interface high-z, that sort of thing. Normal guitar level high-z.

Any suggestions?

Well, Lehle do a unit that will take a single guitar, and split it 3 ways. If you don't need simultaneous outputs (ie, you want to use the modeller or the preamp), then you can build a very simple device into a stompbox-size unit, using just a rotary switch, some wire and the connectors. If you are wanting multiple outs at the same time, then you'll need to buffer the signal to avoid loading the pickups down.

Radial also make some splitters - depends how much you want to spend on it.
So many pickups, so little time

I was looking at radial. Theres an X-amp on the way, and they seem to have their game down, but I'd need 3 or 4 of them and the cost goes up really fast.

A single unit would really be best. I'll look at lehle, thanks oli.

If you need the outputs all at once then the Morley George Lynch Tripler will give you 3.

If not, then the Lehle 1@3 will allow you to choose between 3.  I have the 3@1 (i.e. switch between 3 inputs - for easy guitar changes) & it's awesome.

However, I don't know anyone that makes a 4 output switcher...

Yeah, a closer look at the lehle and its switching. Which is great, but I need all on at once.

I'll check out the trippler. That and one splitter would get the job done pretty well, I suppose.

Cheers.

I found it at strings direct, but they dont have it in at the moment. They're calling me back (cos I also need strings anyway!)

DV247 have a facility to make stuff like this, so seeing as the 4-splitter doesnt appear to exist, they're making me one :D (for £20! Too cheap not to try it!)
