Grindcore pioneers REPULSION will mark their first ever UK show with an exclusive performance at DEATHFEST.

The American legends will end a 25-year wait when they touch down in Leeds for what is destined to be an historic show at Leeds University Union - taking the stage alongside the likes of Vader, Origin, Akerc--ke and Benediction at the country's finest new extreme metal event.

Rounding off the devastatingly versatile bill will be England's purveyors of doom LAZARUS BLACKSTAR and local grind noisemakers ESCLAVAGE.

One of the most innovative bands in grindcore, Repulsion wil treat UK fans at the Terrorizer-sponsored event - which is organsied by the team behind Damnation Festival - on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 3 at Leeds University Union.

Terrorizer's James Hoare said: "Set your iTunes to random and within at least three songs you'll hear a band that owe these gorelords a debt that can never be repaid; the atmospheric bass rumble, the evocative lyrics, the throaty croak and the powerful mystique.

"Repulsion are the source of so much of death metal and grindcore's horror that if you don't catch their UK debut at the inaugural Deathfest, we'll strip your membership to Club Metal."

Festival director Gavin McInally added: "We're proud to bring Repulsion to the UK for the first time and have them billed amongst some of the best extreme metal bands from across the globe including Vader, Leng Tch'e and Origin and the best of British in the shape of Akerc--ke, Benediction, Desecration, and The Rotted.

"Lazarus Blackstar and Esclavage are another two fine home-grown additions more than capable of keeping the first Deathfest interesting with their mix of doom and grind.

"Despite the strong, international line-up, we've stuck to our promise of making this event as cheap as possible with full price tickets still under £20 and hotel rooms for as little as a tenner for folk sharing.
We sincerely hope that fans will support this event and prove that a high-profile extreme metal showcase can be successful on our wee island.

"If that's the case, we'll better it next year!"

The full Deathfest lineup is: VADER, REPULSION, ORIGIN, AKERc--kE, BENEDICTION, DESECRATION, LENG TCH'E, LAZARUS BLACKSTAR, THE ROTTED, DAM, BLACK SUN, RETH, INFECTED DISARRAY, INGESTED and ESCLAVAGE.

Tickets are only £19.50 and are available from http://www.leedstickets.com/ , http://www.ticketline.co.uk/ and http://www.seetickets.co.uk/
Also on sale in Leeds at stores including Crash and Jumbo.

Nah I live in Scotland mate, as do almost all the organisers, it's in Leeds because it's the centre-ish of the nation and we could get a suitable venue - and one we've already git a relationship with from Damnation festival.

All these metal guys with beards look alike though

Following the massive success of the online poll for a band to win the final slot at the inaugural DEATHFEST organisers are delighted to announce that both Neuroma and Dragged Into Sunlight have been added to the bill.

The successful Liverpool bands claimed over 50 per cent of the public vote between them after more than 400 extreme metal fans voted.

Festival organiser Gavin McInally said: "After the massive amount of graft both bands and their fans had put in to make it a clear two-horse race, we couldn't just ditch one, so both will now take the stage in less than three weeks' time."

Deathfest will take place on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 3, at Leeds University Union.

The full Deathfest lineup is: VADER, REPULSION, ORIGIN, AKERc--kE, BENEDICTION, DESECRATION, LENG TCH'E, LAZARUS BLACKSTAR, THE ROTTED, DAM, BLACK SUN, RETH, INFECTED DISARRAY, INGESTED, NEUROMA, DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT and ESCLAVAGE.

Tickets are only £19.50 and are available from http://www.leedstickets.com/ , http://www.ticketline.co.uk/ and http://www.seetickets.co.uk/
Also on sale in Leeds at stores including Crash and Jumbo.
