Looks like he got a endorser from DiMarzio, but in his site there is still the link to BKP...

You can only use equipment endorsed by, and with the full blessing of, Legends Cup coffee to play in Megadeth.

Chris has decided to go with a deal with Dimarzio for whatever reason. As we're only a small company we simply can't afford to endorse artists and give away free pickups-everyone on our user list has bought and paid for their pickups which, as far as I'm concerned, is the way it should be.

He has obviously gone down the path of being paid big money to support something instead of playing what he thinks sounds best musically.  His loss.

When Hetfield started getting sigs from ESP I believe he insisted on paying for them, saying "Now that I can finally afford this stuff I dont see why I should get it for free".

I dunno what he does now, I doubt he still pays for some reason, but that sounds about right to me. Someone does the work, you pay for the work.

Shame about Broderick. He was a good name to have. I bet he still plays his BKs when Dave and Dimarzio arent looking!!

yeah, i always thought it was a bit off that those who can really afford (and justify!) spending big bucks on guitar rigs get stuff for free. that's the way the world works, though (not just guitars)... look at all those goody bags oscar nominees get, etc. etc. etc. paradox being that once you can actually afford nice stuff, you get a lot of stuff offered for free...

As for me I knew about BKP thanks to him, and it is a pity this kind of people leave...for the worst (I hate Di Marzio !) Broderick ? Who's broderick : no one know about broderick...anymore !!

Anyway Tim, you have to know your job merits much more consideration than that. You'll have much more famous and talented guitarists to come !

Broderick is gone, Long live BKP !

I think this is one of those cause and effect things. There are persistent rumours that Ibanez will be releasing a Broderick signature in the near future (provided Dave doesn't force him to sign with Dean ;) ). If this is the case I can see that with the quantities Ibanez will be making they'd be uncomfortable using pickups from a small boutique maker (and does Tim even have the capacity to produce 5000 sets per year for wholesale?). Therefore I can imagine them telling him it had to be Dimarzio, who they've got a longterm relationship with and probably don't cost them much.
