Pictures of BK in your Bass

I thought that I would add this topic as I have 2 basses with BK's in them now.  One is a 66 Precision with a BK 62 P-Bass and the other is a Bravewood 61 Stack Pot Jazz with a BK Jazz set.  The bass rig is a custom McIntyre all valve bass preamp with 3 output channels (full range, high and Low), each with their own compression circuit.  The Power amp is a Crest 200w per side (great for home use!), and the speakers are an old 2x10 with Trace Elliott speakers and an Ear Candy 1x15.

Hi Fernando, I never even checked it!  I just asked Tim to make me an early 60's Precision pickup and he delivered the goods.  Many years ago I had a real 62 Precision and this gets that sound perfectly.

been waiting for the pics of this!!   

The jazz sounded really clear and articulate when i tried it out... gotta get a bass built this year so i can get me some of them

Cheers for posting this, I've been trying to get our bassist round to looking at BKPs for a while  (he's recently gone to 18v modded EMGs, and I suspect he might find true enlightenment with BKPs instead...)!

My first love is bass.

I just wish I could get round to having some work done on my early 80s P bass... The old warhorse really deserves some Feline TLC and BKPs.

Dave, Tim makes the best sounding P-Bass pickup.  I have it in my 66 and it really makes the bass kick.  There is that old Precision sound with the low E growl.  You'll love it if you do it.

Phil, would the BKP P-bass be good for Heavy Rock and maybe even Metal?

Big, full sounding bass but articulate and precise, i'm just afraid the BKP P-bass would be a too low output and vintagey, though i guess they're all custom made...

I think it would be great for heavy rock and certainly the NWOBHM sound, look how many players were using Precisions there.  I had Tim wind me a 62 wind, which is a little heavier than the 66, but I am sure he can vary the tone a bit if you let him know what you want (I happen to love the sound of the 61/62 Precisions - I used to have one and sold it many years ago when I needed the money, now my 66 sounds just as good).

Hey Tim, what would you recommended for a typical hardcore/punk sound. Thinking Sick of it all style, Ampeg pushed all the way etc.

I see you have two versions of the Pbass one, the 62 and 66 version.
Currently playing with an Emg but im not 100% happy with the sound.
What would you recommend?
