lately I've been jamming alot of Appetite For Destruction, mainly 'Mr Brownstone' and 'Out Ta Get Me'.

oh, also learned the main riff in Napalm Death's 'Persona Non Grata' and 'Sink Fast Let Go'.

'Hellaluhja', original by Peter Pan Speedrock, covered by Batmobile.

Cool riff, not too hard but the timing is a bitch. It sound a little like Slither by Velvet revolver.

The Curse of Castle Dragon - Paul Gilbert

Though I'm sure I'm doing half of it wrong at least, and shan't be continuing the learning process until I have a guitar I'm happy playing with again... all my current lot are great for rhythm and chords but when I play lead lines on them it feels wrong somehow... :s

Great piece to learn/play!

Has some lovely bits in it.

I worked out the acoustic riff for Stephen Fretwell - Run.  It;s the music they use for the Gavin and Stacy theme tune, but that's not why I learnt it.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, when I was just paying about las night I was strumming a few chords and ended up playing Knocking on Heaven's Door.  Never even wordered what the chords are to it before.  I know it's dead easy, but there you go

New Noise by refused, which we decided to cover quite a while ago. I can't say I've really spent that long trying to play other people's riffs, I prefer to try to come up with my own. Would be useful for me to do more practice, though, but where does the time go?!

Nothing wrong with chordal stuff !  Listen to Micheal Schenker on the Live album 'Strangers In The Night' , Malcom Young - or Eddie Van Halen,  to be reminded that well puntuated rhythm playing is 'high art' indeed ...  :)

( And rhythmn players have to keep it up longer ! )

Social Distortion - So Far Away. 4 chords but its so fun to play. I "figured out" Ball and Chain as well, I can sit there strumming chords like that for ages just going through the lyrics in my head :)

The most complicated thing I've learned recently is KsE - Fixation on the Darkness and a bit of Rose of Sharyn. Not really my thing though..

Yes!

What a cracking song.  I I were gigging right now, that would be on the set list, definitely.
