The Redwing Tornado (Patrick Eggle's venture after he left PEG) was somthing special. the wood was different to the SG, being denser, but it still had a resonance that's hard to find. That guitar made any type of music sound better.
Sadly I sold the Redwing because the neck was a bit thin for me. I should have got a different neck I suppose. Ah well...

I saw one of those on eBay a couple of weeks ago.  Not yours was it Martin?

If it looked like that, yes. It's completely unique!
A mate of mine bought the parts on ebay, from an ebay seller who turned out to be Patrick Eggle!

Just looked, there's a  similar-ish one on at the moment, but with silver hardware, and I put a Patrick eggle logo on mine.

well remembered ratrod! i recall rudolf schenker was saying he really liked the swamp ash tone in the voodoo V, thought that may have been gibson marketing lies

maybe i should ditch the idea of the second jazzmaster and track down one of those Vs. fun with grain filler maybe - looks good though!

edit:
on second thoughts, i'd still really like a guitar with telecaster electronics... was blinded by the V!

Yeah, that's the one, he's been trying to sell it for a few weeks, I've been watching it on and off.

When I saw yours I thought it was the same one, but the gold hardware and mix'n'match pickups didn't look familiar.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

I'm sure that ebayer is "Sam's Guitars" in Bangor. If so, they were a "Redwing" dealer and had a few in stock at one time. There was also a Strat-ish one called the Ventura. (See pic)
They've had that in stock for years; the retail price was well over £1000.

If you want to upset someone, go over to the Patrick Eggle Guitars forum and ask about Redwings..really messes them up!

Let me guess - some hate them because they're not "proper" Eggles, others think they're a trillion times better than production Eggles because PJE himself sprinkled them with magic dust...

Just the former.  :)
Despite the fact that Redwings were designed and in most cases built by PJE himself, whereas many of the "Legendary Years " Eggles were built after he had left the building.

so those redwings are nice, then? that one on ebay at the moment looks quite nice, though i'm not sure i need it...  and considering i haven't tried them, a bit more of a drop in price would be cool too (it's already dropped a couple of times).

i remember someone at the eggle forum bought one of those (the more strat-alike version)and said it was nice- i don't remember there being any problems at the eggle forum, anyway. :)
