I found this fairly interesting/cool,

They have amplifiers and iPod docks, and I'm somewhat fairly tempted to get an iPod dock to blast some music, I like the exposed look too.

My shop has these. I think they are terrible. It's like one of those all in one guitar/amp/instruction book/pick deals you see in chain music stores. PDT_008
The DAC on an iPod is atrocious; there's not much you can do to make it better.
If you want a better solution for your iPod, use one of
these

into one of
these
http://www.musicalfidelity.com/products/vseries/vdac.html
into the integrated amp/loudspeakers of your choice.
