Hey guys, Id ecided I'm really tired of my current pickups. I have a Fender HM Strat- Basswood body, Maple neck, rosewood board, Floyd, a DiMarzio Super 3 humbucker and 2 fender single coils. The for me is that the DiMarzio just sounds too muddy to my ears and the stock single coils seem too thin sounding. I play Classic Rock through to death Metal and these pickups just cant handle that. Any recommendations for a new set of Bare Knuckle Pickups?

How about Nailbomb/Irish Tours as a starter. The Nailbomb will cover the high gain stuff, but still have plenty of vintage tone thanks to the scatterwinding and Alnico V magnet. The tours are nice and thick sounding singles. Alternative would be a set of trilogies, which are similar to teh neck and middle in Hayden's single coil demo on the players page.

Depending how the body is routed, you could try my favourite, Crawler bridge and 2 calibrated P-90's. You will need to cut the pickguard, but the sound is well worth it. The P-90's will get rid of the thin single coil sound! I also have the Nailbomb/Trilogy/Triolgy, but will be installing it this weekend so I can't tell you the sound (other than I already know it will be great - all the other pickups I have are!).

Another option is a Warpig in the neck for the death metal sounds, the hottest strat pickips are the Sinners, but I haven't had chance to hear these yet.

Of course, as always the man to ask is Tim. The one thing I can tell you is that whatever pickups you get, you will love the sound.

I just went and had a listen to Hayden's demo and i loved the single coils clean sound, sounded perfect to me. Can you get a Nailbomb and two Trilogy's as a set?

There is no pickguard on this particular model and it is routed to take single coils only in the middle and neck.

I have heard the Warpig and like the sound, but I'd liek to hear Tims opinion, because as you said he is the man to ask.

Hey PhilKing any chance of a demo when you get you Nailbomb and trilogy set?

Oh and also does anyone know how the Nailbomb sounds when coil tapped???

Hi, I will install them this weekend.

I will be using a 4 pole 5 way switch (from BKP) and wiring it to give me Nailbomb both coils/Nailbomb outer screw coil + middle in series/All 3 in series (if i can figure this one out!)/Nailbomb inner screw coil + neck in series/neck+middle in series.

I have 2 screw coils in my Nailbomb, and, as you can see, I am wiring this for some slightly heavier sounds than the normal sets. I will try and record some stuff when I finish it.

Tim will make you a HSS set with Nailbomb and Trilogy's. MIne are all white coils, which looks great on a Fender. The guitar I am putting them on has no pickguard either!
