Mule reverse tarnishing - advice needed
« on: January 14, 2009, 06:00:15 PM »
I have Mules on my Les Paul and love 'em.  I opted for the aged covers as I thought it was in keeping with the "aura" of the '59 VOS spec guitar.

Looking for advice on what I call reverse tarnishing.......... what I mean is that the bottom of the neck pickup is starting to lose it's matt/aged finish and is showing a return to a shiny finish. Anyone know what to do?

It's just a cosmetic thing so it's not the end of the world but it would look better if it was returned fully to it's beaten up state.

Tks in advance
I am not young enough to know everything

let it... BKP ageing is sometimes more like a headstart - i reckon it should be allowed to do its own thing over time as well
