Blackguards cranked through Laney Lionheart
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:01:11 PM »
Just a rough clip through a Laney L5T-112.  Starts off on clean channel then changes to drive on full volume.
Also starts off in bridge but then changes to posotion 4 on the 4-way.

Oh yes, that's what I'm talking about... 8)

[amp envy] I wondered about a Lionheart a while back (that's their "vintage" range isn't it?) - but I don't play live anymore, and I already have 50w m/v Laney combo I bought in 1982 hiding in the corner of the bedroom. It did many gigs, and always sounded gorgeous, but I just can't use it where I live...  So buying a new amp seems kinda daft for me right at the moment. [/amp envy]

Fine, fine sounds there Tom... It's one of my favourites - that "honest" sh1tkicking sort of thing that you can get out of a tele (plus not much else) through an amp like that... you've got it spot on for me in that clip...

Agh.... Now I've got try to find that sound from my VOX Tonelab. I've got the day off work to do some recording (drum arrangement, mixing, vocals)... after hearing your clip I know I'm going to spend all day dicking about with my amp modeller instead!

Cheers Andy, don't get to play loud too much, this was at my mates studio, called Dare Music in Cheshire and is the house amp.  It's a great little crunch amp and sounds pretty fat for 5 watts.  It's fairly dark though so no fender cleans!

Yeah it's really good to plug in and let rip, the only thing is when I get the chance I can't think of much to play!

At some point I'll do tyhe same with IT's and Stormies.....

Funny you mention the tonelab, since hearing your Mules clip I have been eying them up.  I love my Micro BR but the amp sims are not amazing, the tonelab sounds miles better so it's now on the list......
