Pedalboard Stuff
« on: January 22, 2009, 03:01:47 PM »
So, I'm some way into my self-build pedalboard, but I need some stuff.

  • Handle
  • Detachable hinge thingies
  • Carpet-type stuff that goes inside and the velcro fixes to
  • Tolex, or something similar
  • ... anything else I've forgotten...

Is there a really cool online place I can get all this from?

On a related note, is there somewhere I can buy 'handles' similar to the ones on the front of that Orange amp in MrBump's avatar? I've been trying to find some for ages for something pedalboardy I['m putting together, but was never sure of what the proper name for them would be.

I've seen similar on the site that Martin just posted.

What about something to line the pedalboard with?  What does velcro stick to?

I just used the furry part of heavy-duty velcro and stuck it to the base.

I can't seem to find that sort (the smallish, metal pull-handles) on that site, although it's possible I'm being a complete berk.

Use B and Q carpet tiles (£1.99 ish) to line the board. Works great, and much tougher than the felt-y stuff most suppliers use.

BTW

Depending on the size of your board you may want to get some strong contact adhesive.

When i built my board i got some heavy duty velcro off ebay.  But once i had attached the pedals, as soon as i picked it up the velcro peeled right off cause of the weight of the pedals.

(i had left it a few days too!)

Might be worth doing, just as a precautioun regardless.

Tis done!

Not all velcro'd in yet, but you get the idea.  Not a bad effort, actually.  Cost about £50 all in.

I just wish I'd  made it a little bigger...

A bit bigger like   ... this?

Yes .. it's a keyboard flightcase haha. And this is al old picture, diamond plate has been moved left, Boss SD-1 added, and I've got proper patchcables now ;)

I see we've got the same tuner! Good choice 8) :D

What's that wah though? And why are half the pedals upside down? (don't you stomp all your settings to blithereens?)
