housing deposit help?
« on: January 24, 2009, 03:52:29 PM »
Well im currently living in a realyl awkard situation as im living with my ex in a flat we got together and its really awful constant bickering and snide comments left right and centre and its really stressing me out and affecting me at work.

I have two options as i have found another property

i could cover the deposit & first months rent which is £750 out of my wage which i get on wed next week.
However this would leave me short for bills & im already in quite a bit of debt so i want to avoid this if possible.

Or i could maybe get a small loan to cover the deposit of £400 but this will be tough as my credit rating has taken an absolute hammering over the last few months with missed payments over christmas etc.

So what im asking is are there any organisations that could maybe help to front the deposit or even half of it?

i have google searched and come up with the deposit help scheme but that is only for homeless & people on benefits.

If you've got a deposit in your current place then try and get half of it off the bitch.  Obviously when she leaves, then she'll be reclaiming the whole deposit.

Been in the same boat as you mate, it's not very nice at all.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

she quit her job about 3 months back while we were still together and says she applied for jsa straight away but ive been on jsa and know they only take a month at the most and send letters out within a week and nothings been.

Its all sorted now however my dad is helping me with half the deposit so everything is going smoothly looking to be moved out this weekend
