Red guitars go faster!

I played a 513 out of curiosity yesterday and was gobsmacked, the neck is pretty deep and has big frets-not like a typical PRS at all.

I plugged it in to H@K combo(also very cool)and after a few strums knew I had to have it, it sounds friggin' awesome in just about all of the 13 positions  !

It has a really cool scalloped nut, dark rosewood board, startrek style switching system and the 25 1/4" scale is great... the top isn't an 'uber10' or anything but it has tons of character and the colour is a really sexeh wine red.

What's cool is it doesn't have seem to have humbuckers, it looks like 5 singlecoils that get wired together when in bucker mode  :harp:

I've sold a couple of bits that I didn't think I would part with to afford it  :o

I was reading the other day that they're actually modified PRS bass pickups!  Pretty cool use of existing parts.

Very nice looking guitar!  :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

That would explain why they're so damn wide

I played a CU24 that looked hawt but the neck was tooooo skinny and I wasn't keen on the sounds, it did have 9s to be fair and a DGT with 11s, the DGT was cool but the sticky finish would drive me nuts and the neck was a tad on the thin side for me again.

congrats!!! looks great. how convincing does the hum mode appear? i've seen some reviews where players simply hated the sound.

i'm not sure "cool" is the correct adjective when the guitar's likely to cost several thousand pounds...

sweet guitar, though, i'm sure it's badass. :)

Good question, in singlecoil mode it sounds pretty traditional but in bucker mode it doesn't sound like buckers really.
It sounds kind of like a really hot Tvtron shagged a p90 and had kids

It wasn't that expensive Dave  8) £2200, I think the retail is £3k. I got £2300 for selling some other gear so it doesn't hurt too much

   Touché.

But I don't think they're was any suggestion of corner-cutting.  They just experimented with the bass pickups in a guitar and thought they sounded amazing.

I bought it because of the tone, it's not quite like anything else. I think most of the dissapointed people expected it to be the best strat and the best lespaul tones in one guitar-I only expected it to sound like a 513. It has MASSIVE bass response.

that's a pretty good deal i think, compared to the usual UK prices, anyway (i think i've seen them over £3k? could be wrong though). still expensive, though, but something can be expensive but still a good deal. :)
