The Brazilian Rosewood neck ones were well expensive, Dave.  Hog necks are more reasonable  :)

I did notice that the whole heel cutaway area seems a lot different from most PRS guitars
It is a lot more Gibson like
The body now comes out to reach the neck rather than the neck going into the body

i'm not sure "cool" is the correct adjective when the guitar's likely to cost several thousand pounds...

   Touché.

But I don't think they're was any suggestion of corner-cutting.  They just experimented with the bass pickups in a guitar and thought they sounded amazing.

yeah, i know. was just pointing it out...

It wasn't that expensive Dave  8) £2200, I think the retail is £3k. I got £2300 for selling some other gear so it doesn't hurt too much

that's a pretty good deal i think, compared to the usual UK prices, anyway (i think i've seen them over £3k? could be wrong though). still expensive, though, but something can be expensive but still a good deal. :)

What's interesting is after I bought it the shop put the price on the website to £2600, possibly because of the price increase coming.
I was reading that the BRW 513 originally retailed for a bit more than the Moderneagle , obviously the price tanked when no one bought em

Aparantly the pickups are so deep that there's no room for the neck to go under the pickups.

congrats!!! looks great. how convincing does the hum mode appear? i've seen some reviews where players simply hated the sound.

Good question, in singlecoil mode it sounds pretty traditional but in bucker mode it doesn't sound like buckers really.
It sounds kind of like a really hot Tvtron shagged a p90 and had kids

thought so... still, I bet it is more than usable and versatile. enjoy :)

I bought it because of the tone, it's not quite like anything else. I think most of the dissapointed people expected it to be the best strat and the best lespaul tones in one guitar-I only expected it to sound like a 513. It has MASSIVE bass response.

yeah, I presumed it has a voice of it own. well 13 of them, apparently. got any favorite pup combinations?

I'm still working through them ;-P

...but yea, pos 2 on 'hot humbucker' mode, I think that's the three nearest the bridge wired in parallel- add some gain and trem vibrato and it nails those Lukather/Landau 1980s LAsession chord tones  8)

The middle single coil is a but dud on its own though!

Thanks all for the comments :-D
