I've been sat on this one a couple of weeks, trying to do something about the drums...
My problem is that the Boss Micro-BR only does 4/4 patterns, and there's a bunch of 2/4 bars in here. I know a way round it, but I really can't be @rsed (I'm not even sure it'll work)!
Then after being off on holiday for a few days, I decided that seeing as it was originally started as an IT demo, and it does that job, and seeing as the drum issues will take loads of time, and seeing as the track is stopping me working on other stuff... I shall call a halt, mix it, post it, and have done with it! :D
So here we are, Larry Wallis's "As Long As The Price Is Right" (a Dr Feelgood staple from the Gypie Mayo period), with a wall of Irish Tours from my Japanese 62 re-issue strat, a guide vocal (can't be bothered to sort that out either...), and the original click track I recorded it all against.
I'm afraid I can't remember what pickup positions on the strat or what amp models I used, but I do remember that the leads didn't use any in between positions, that I used a mixture of fingers and plectrum for picking, and there's some violin-bowing on the volume control (that took me hours to capture, when in fact a pedal would have been a lot quicker!). I also remember thinking that the rhythm parts would have sounded better with one tele rather than several strats , and that I've probably recorded it too slow (I'm still waiting for a CD I've ordered - I had to do this from memory...)
But, all in all, I'm still very impressed with the combination of Boss Micro-BR, and my VOX Tonelab for the amp models :D
