Lamp not lit on Tiny Terror
« on: January 30, 2009, 07:02:34 PM »
I'm having a problem with my toaster. The orange jewel light isn't coming on when the amp is on and rocking. Sounds are fine, and has recently been re-tubed. The lamp has been lighting intermittently, occasionally when flicking between standby and the wattage setting.

The bulb looks fine, and comes on occasionally, so dont think thats the issue. Opened her up and the connections to the lamp seem fine as well, i'm stumped! anything i can do or just take it to an amp tech?

I think here lies the problem, you've been looking at that thing for so long you can't tell which is the amp and which makes food!

I wouldn't bother taking it to a tech unless it's an irritation, it isn't having any affect on the sound, right?

Could just be the bulb is a bit of a dud, or not getting enough power... hmm

does it have one of those Fender 'jewel' light type lights? - if so, just screw the jewel off the front and replace the bulb in the indicator light.

the only reason i havent is the lamp does light up on occasion. A blown lamp surely cant light up?

correct.  it's probably not screwed in right if it's a Fender type jewel indicator.

It's a lamp behind a big orange plastic jewel front. It seems only to light when flicking quickly between 7watts/standby/15watts. I'm pretty sure its screwed in properly. I'm confused by this.

That doesn't affect mine- mine being Korean made.

I opened up the jewel light and wiggled the bulb, it lights intermittently, and goes out with the slightest knock. I sprayed in some contact cleaner, but still not helping. This is getting annoying, because it's all too easy to leave the amp on for a while when not playing and not realise.
