S'all about Starbucks caramel hot chocolate.

For me it's about a large straight 'n' strong filter coffee with enough milk to stop it eroding the lining of the cup . I even keep a bag in my icebox for a fresh home brew in the morning. A close friend even bought me the 'authentic'  cup for Christmas - so it looks like my cover is blown.

( I do 'detox' on Darjeeling tea for the rest of the day though ).

Oh nice, two things that need sorting about Starbucks is the fancy size names and the painfully overpriced food.

My mate steals a mug from their every time he goes, his reasoning behind his actions is that "They're fascists."

If I have to get coffee out, it has to be Cafe Nero - don't like starbuck's coffee, seems a bit wimpy to me

For us it's Lavazza (bog standard, silver/red wrapping, not the black one) brewed up in the stove-top espresso machine at home (we even take it on holiday ).

Not sure what makes me happy. Nearly anything can nowadays, even the cr@p stuff once I've beaten it... it's probably the presence/company/thought of my wife that makes the difference :D

Starbucks is weird, you can't walk in and ask for a hot chocolate. It has to be in their own Starbar-stewardised language. Or so it seems in the places I've been into.

i occasionaly get in the mood where itake coffee too seriously, i have a small and large stove top espresso jug and a turkish coffee pan that get used most.  Generally the illy espresso is good and easily available, good prices on that in cosco.

in my old job i used to brew a full jug of fresh whittards coffee to take to work every day, now i am usually stuck with instant and tend to have percol instant espresso for the little cup or Douwe Egberts pure indulgence when its a longer drink.  occasionally i get myself some raw beans to roast them myself - can be hit and miss though since i dont have a proper roaster

anyway, happy things!

1.  Its snowing...  ok its only very slightly but its definately snowing

2.  We just booked our honeymoon cottage, having a bigger holiday the year after but the week after the wedding will be spent here

also been to see a couple of village halls today for the reception.

thats one of the next things on the list, i wanted to sort out the venue first... we think we have decided on food, its probably going to be a jacket potato van :)   a normal basic buffet will cost about £10 a head.... or we can have jacket spuds for £3 a head.  considering one of my friends had fish and chips and had to pay £16 a head i am very happy with a spud!!

Scoring a goal, preferably a volley from 30 yards  (Although very unlikely)
Coming down a big hill on my mountain bike, not knowing what's round the corner and going fast
Seeing my new baby boy smile for the first time or watching my 21 month old daughter play and smile
Keeping my job
Avoiding Starbucks
Winning stuff (although very unlikely)
Making Stuff
Learning Stuff
Drinking, then stopping drinking and running my ass off for a month then back to drinking
Sitting at home, having a joint and writing 10 songs in a day (although now very unlikely)
Watching Man U win the League again
Watching Rafa lose the plot
Wanching Man City, the ritchest club in the world lose to Stoke city and not win away for 5 months :D
Playing new instruments, Banjo's Mandolins etc
etc etc etc

I will have to try the Cafe Nero stuff then Andy : -  but as an old romantic, I mainly signed in to say how nice it was to read you giving tribute / credit  to your wife / partner ;   as did NFE and Hunter in earlier pictoral tributes .  Now that sort of stuff makes me happy ... :)

yeah, it's true. i was in one in vienna a couple of years ago, and they told me i was pronouncing something like "cookie" (can't remember exactly, but it was certainly an english/american english word) incorrectly.

yeah, i'm not fussed on starbucks coffee, it's just not that nice. i prefer costa... though costa doesn't have as nice a selection of food as starbucks... (even if starbucks food can taste a bit synthetic, at least they have stuff i actually like) :( cafe nero's nice too, never been to it much though as until recently there weren't any in northern ireland (i think one opened recently in belfast, but i haven't been to it yet).

We have Costa at work so I have to buy different when I'm out and about!

Nero is good, but their cash only policy can be a pain if I've forgotten to go the bank.

As a slight aside, I could easily live without alcohol but I'd be absolutely mortified if I couldn't have nice coffee  :(

Ditto, but I could make do with bad coffee - or even tea.  It's the caffeine I need.
