Fender Humbucker
« on: February 01, 2009, 09:40:40 PM »
Anyone know if there is a difference between Fender HBs and others in terms of size?

This is what I'm talking about:

Will that fit a "standard" HB?

the wide range humbucker found in some telecasters is large than a standard humbucker.

if you wanted a normal humbucker in that body it would be fine but you would need a scratchplate routed for a normal humbucker rather than the wide range one

if you are considering a wide range i wouldnt bother unless you can get an original one, the re-issues are not as authentic as they should be

Wez is spot on
There is an article on the Fender Wide range in one of the guitar mags this month - has a tele Deluxe on the cover and the article is mainly about the guitar but speaks about the pickup too
