Pick ups for a Washburn chicago series
« on: October 07, 2005, 10:54:21 PM »
Hey there!

I recently got a Washburn Chicago Series guitar and am looking for a bare knuckle H-S-S combination to whack in there!!!

It's an Alder body with Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.

I like a lot of classic and hard rock to metal, from bands such as Thin Lizzy to Children Of Bodom.

For the bridge, I want a humbucker that has a high output heavy sound, and in the middle and neck pickups, I would like something that can give a good overdrive tone, but mainly a great clean sound as well!!!

Cheers guys for your help!

Hi!

The Nailbomb/Mothersmilk is a good versatile set to start with. For something a bit more hot vintage sub the Nailbomb for a Crawler. For vintage  Van Halen, go with a VHII, that's as low output as I'd go in the guitar. Another option would be trilogy single coils for a more modern single coil tone, and a Miracle Man bridge for awesome power!

Check the players forum and have a listen!
