New Miracle Man set! - Some problems
« on: October 08, 2005, 12:50:28 PM »
Hey all.

My new Miracle Man set just arrrived this morning. However, I noticed that the neck pickup didn't come with the two screws and springs. The bridge pickup had them stuck (magneticly) to them on the back. Just wondering if I could use the old screws out of my stock epiphone pickups even though they are slightly smaller.
Please help!
Also, anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram from??

Thanks alot

Strange... I got my Mule set with all the springs and screws, and -- if I remember well -- there were even some spare screws and springs under the foam, too. You could also check the bottom of the box, maybe there are some parts hidden.

No hurt using the screws you have, if not I'm sure Tim or Steve can mail you some out on Monday!

There should be a wiring diagram on the warranty card!  :)

Hi there. There may be some under the foam, If not try the stock ones. If they don’t fit Email Tim your address and explain what has happened and we'll get some out to you ASAP... Sorry about that!

Be very careful with the Epiphone screws - try them first with the pickup not in the guitar and without the mounting ring or the springs - - like you are just testing the fit of the screw thread.

Do not under any circumstances force them - if the fit is not natural - assume that the thread is different and get the right screws.

Seymour Duncan, Gibson and Dimarzio screws are all the same thread , but some of the far eastern axes have metric threads and will spoil the threads in the pickup feet if forced (or will mess up the screw thread)

This will just stop you haveing bigger problems if it goes wrong- although it must be frustrating as you will want to get them in and playing ASAP I know

Thanks everyone for replies.

I think I will just hand it over to a local techy to sort it out. It will cost me but hopefully I will get the best out of the pickups!

The Epi ones won't do, they are metric, BKs are imperial thread like Gibson, etc.
Just 'cos you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you
