Interesting Pickup wiring Idea
« on: February 09, 2009, 12:18:45 PM »
Take a 4 conductor Humbucker at the bridge.
Rather than wire it up for coil splitting, could you not insert say a single coil at the neck position inbetween
the two humbucker coils?

I wonder what it would sound like?

That wouldn't sound any different to the bucker and single coil in series I don't think?

And it'll be fat, like the TV Jones + bridge single coil + 4-way switch on my Squier CV Tele....

or take the screw coil from the bridge 'bucker and wire it in series with the slug coil from the neck 'bucker - bet that would be an 'interesting' tone.  at a guess, I'd guess it would sound not too dissimilar to the middle position setting on a Les Paul, but not quite as pokey.
