How often do you see Boy George and Pepsi & Shirley on the same bill as Gary Moore and Mark Knopfler..?

Looks like Boy George was behind bars even then. They should have put a heater on-poor Gary Moore had to keep his coat on.

It was pretty hard to get past the first few seconds with McCartney pulling his patented Fab Four faces....  :|

That's not a bad cover really (if you close your eyes).  There's some good singing on it.  It does go on a bit though.

My lord that makes me feel really OLD!! Did ya see Nick Kaman from the old Levis 501 advert?

I also immediately recognized Suzanne Mizzi (page 3 stunna) in the choir & obviously the legendary goddess Kim Wilde....

My earliest experiments with energetic self lovin' were shared with those ladies... sadly, we have even to this day, always occupied separate geographic locations...

Hell I'm gonna crack one off again for old times sake just as soon as I get the images of that gurning Paul McCartney and Boy George outta my mind...

Oh god .. Now I'm thinking of Andy Bell of Erasure and that ain't never gonna happen...

I'll have a cup of tea and try again later..  :( :?

Fantastic! Must say that I had forgotten about this one - best/worst of the 80s rolled into one video.

If you've ever listened to the early Culture Club stuff (outside the singles) Boy George had a great voice - really under-rated as a vocalist.

Gazza Moore looks like he is ready for a quick get-away - was that a PRS or an Eggle he was playing?

Would say PRS, a very early one.

He was an early user of PRS guitars.  I still remember watching him play Wild Frontier on Saturday Live with a lovely red one.

Class.

I dunno.... Knopfler is tasteful and has a nice tone.... then Moore just kind of jumps in with both feet and goes WEEEEEEEEOOOOOO-KRANGGGGGGGGG.  It's not exactly subtle.  Reminds me of those tracks he did with BB King and Albert King, where he totally drowns them out.

They don't work well together, ultimately.  Maybe they should've had a solo each at diferent parts of the song.

It does show how "big" Gary Moore was at that time in the '80s though, with a few hit singles under his belt.  No one would've invited him to do a pop charity record a few years before or after that.

.. same for Knopfler though - people forget that in the 80's Dire Straits were the biggest band going, at least for a while.

Thanks for posting, I had not seen that before - and I thought it was the best of the  'ensemble charity record'  efforts.  Sad but sweet to see Mel'n'Kim - before the very pretty and likeable Kim(?) succumbed to Cancer.

I must say that although Gary can be a grumpy chap sometimes, he always was one mean gunslinger ...  8)
