New (almost) Legra content!!!!
« on: February 13, 2009, 12:04:30 AM »
Mwhahaha,

Fear my wrath earthlings for behold!!!!!! Though I do not post much on these forums what better place to reveal a new Legra under construction!!?!?!?

FEAST YOUR EYES!!!!!!!!!!!

There will be a MQ in the neck and a Nailbomb in the bridge, with a Bigsby as the trem (loved bigsby's and didnt feel like dealting with a floyd rose).   Space was saved in the bottom right corner  to later put in a fuzz factory.

I told Bob a week ago I was considering purchasing another Legra in the future, I really don't have any more doubts about that :)

Nice hey man do you like the Bigsby? How does it hold its tune? I actually want to start a project just like that a tele with a bigsby. I was thinking doing some kind of exotic wood top with a lacquer finish. I was thinking Bigsby tremolos look awesome.

I like bigsby's alot, they look very classy and add this nice singing vibrato.  This guitar is influenced by a tele I had with a bigsby.

Some people say bigsby's don't hold their tune and add to much weight, but I have found neither to be true.  Just make sure you use the actual bigsby bigsby and no the fender knockoff.

I see a fuzz factory, a sustainer, but wait, outside of a tone, volume, and pickup switch what are the other like two knobs for?

Looks like a standard sustainer / fuzz factory install to me?

I'm always a bit puzzled why people want a guitar the same as one specifically built to cater to one quite distinctive players requirements  :?

Cool job on them though, fo' sho'!

It puzzles me too but if you're a custom builder like me then it's what keeps the wolf from the door. I have to say though that when faced with the chance of having whatever they want most people will fall back to something they know and understand. Come on guitar makers how much of your work is based around replicas?
I have to say though that Matt Bellamy has been responsible for promoting a lot of mediocre stuff (BKP's are the exception) that just wouldn't make it otherwise. I'm not going to slag off any particular stuff he uses 'cos you guys are smart enough to figure that out for yourselves.

the knobs are 2 vols, tone, sustainer intensity and the two fuzz knobs. theres a 3-way killswitch on the shoulder and the pickup selector with the knobs.

and yeah iv turned down many many requests for this kind of thing. especially kaoss pad ones. i only accept when i cant afford to turn them down. like now

i would hate to just do replicas... but i do find doing the occasional one to be quite fun as it often encourages me to build a way i wouldnt normally do it

Personally,

I am SUPER PICKY, there is NOT ONE SINGLE GUITAR available from any supplier that fitted what I wanted, so I figured I go custom, and I figured I'd might as well emulate after Matthew Bellamy's because I didn't care to play guitar before I encountered Muse, so I figure me main axe might as well be living tribute.  Fender, Ibanez ect are all quality makers (I'm a tele lover myself) but nothing fit the bill.

Not to mention I love everything custom, custom laptop, custom shoes, custom guitar, that's my nature.
I'm also intending to get a chrome one (eventually long time down the road) but I'm also working out a super-strat but I want to have everything completely decided first as I pestered Bob for months with "what about this and what about that" concerning this project.  The man is super patient, I'm honestly surprised he didn't tell me to go somewhere else

Hehe yeah kaoss pads in a guitar is only useful for someone like Bellamy, I imagine you get a million requests for that and simply shake your head in dismay :)

admittedly, the fuzz factory has become a staple and he uses it for wonderful effect-

So do I, I've owned several custom guitars and have another one coming. But they were custom for me, not custom for someone else, y'know?
