I have among others a 1974 Traynor YGL-3; it's the best amp I've ever owned. It still has the original Phillips 6CA7 valves and if you do the research you'll find that almost every other power valve since has been a cost reduced version of these. The tone stack is somewhere between a Fender Bandmaster reverb and a 70's Marshall. It runs through a large 2 x 12 cab that I built myself and is based on a Mesa Boogie three quarter back design loaded with a Celestion V30 and a G12T-75. It's a great tool for me because when my customers call round to pick up their guitars they always comment on how great their guitars sound through this amp.

my current amp is my experimental chassis that I try things out on - looks a total mess, but sounds like Angels gargling nectar.  running an EF184 (not too dissimilar to an EF86) as the first preamp valve - after that its sort of a plexi circuit into a pair of 6V6s in cathode bias.  around 15w of pure joy  :D

Another great thing about old Traynors Wez is that they are so cheap! I paid a hundred quid for mine but I guess I would never have bought it if I hadn't used one before. The first time I ever heard of them was in 1971 when I played with a band called Acid at the concert in the park in Philadelphia; the whole backline was Traynor and I was totally impressed with them.

Mostly I play silently through a Balckstar HT Dual and EMU 0404 interface, but my amp is an Orange Rockerverb 50 with an Orange 4x12 (V30's).

Diezel Einstein Prototype into Framus Dragon cab fitted with Weber beam blockers. I also run a BBE Sonic Maximiser on low in the loop. Boost is an Analogman 808 mod TS-9.
A-Pig 7s, Miracle Man & Mule, Cold Sweats... Expensive kit and no talent posse.

I actually play exclusively through Guitar Rig these days, since selling my Randall RM100 and my Laney Lionheart. I just don't have the space for an amp, although after the looking up some Traynor clips, I'm gassing again

I've owned some pretty impressive amps through the years

THD BiValve
Splawn Competition
Marshall Super Lead from '69
Cornford Hurricane
Fender Deluxe Reverb
Marshall JCM800 2205
Marshall JCM900 Mk3
Carlton Camel
Selmer Treble n Bass 50
Laney LC15R

All nice but none as good as my £150 bargain basement Carlsbro 60TC
