Mariza, maybe the greatest living fado singer... she's not exactly a beauty, but is certainly graceful and has got LOADS of class.

This song strikes me like a load of bricks, every single time... oh, and by the way Lisbon is my favourite city on earth, i'd love to move there, a day...

Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)

I see what you mean dheim :

Not my usual facial cup of tea ( and one suspects the feeling is mutual ) - but the passion, dignity and grace is most evident.  There is also a sense of warmth and sincerity there,  that imbues the presentation : a good heart.  Her qualities being not only evident at the outset ;  but also one imagines , would remain enduringly attractive .

:)

I'm a big lover of Portugal as a country and have been to a fair share of Fado bars in my visits. That clip is a superb piece of music.

I saw Mariza on the Jools Holland show and was spell-bound. Excellent and interesting choice of crush.

Has Sophie Dahl been mentioned yet? Just saw a bit of her cooking programme on bbc2 or something, she's lovely!

The sponge she made looked rank though, too much icing!

I'm with Fernando on that on. I'd put that woman on a pedestal, just so I could do nasty, nasty things to her...

and, an odd one. Since there's little to do before work of a morning, I started watching "Ninja Warrior" on whichever TV graveyard it's on. Sometimes, it's a Women's Edition, or, in fact, a different show (Kunoichi) marketed under the same name for us gaijin.

And if it is, well, by god, there's a strong chance Ayako Miyake will be on it. I'm having trouble finding decent pics of her at present, and even in the best of them, she's a little "odd" looking, but I tell ye, there's something about that lass in motion does strange things to a man.
