Nice guitar .... sounds good as it is to me. What year is the SG? Does it have the Spinex pick ups in?
The guitar sounds great, but maybe it would sound even better with BKPs...However, if I had an SG2000, I'd keep the stock pickups - they look so unique they're part of the appeal of the guitar, for me.
You've just spoilt my weekend posting that guitar.I thought I had my lust for an SG2000 (or 1000, or 3000) but no, you've just brought it back.Thanks. Thanks a bunch.

The pickups aren't spinex - as far as I'm aware. Yamaha refers to them as simply 'Yamaha Alnico V' pickups. The Spinex pups are Alnico V's... I'm just not sure when they were produced. No matter anyway... it sounds great, personally I would leave well alone with that one... superb guitar!
Decision made.I've listened to this clip a lot over the weekend and I've decided to keep the stock pickups. I like the tone and they certainly don't ever get lost in the mix.Looks like I need to buy another guitar to put BKP's into now :)
