First gig with new band
« on: March 01, 2009, 03:22:39 AM »
Woohoo!! Finally got some stage time with my new band, we're playing 80's style metal (the band is called powerchords l'oreal by the way, not my decision but there you go) Went really well and I am delighted with it!! So as I sit here with a glass of whiskey (all whiskey recommendations are welcome and will be experimented on) I'm looking for any songs that  we may have missed on our set list. So far we got the standards (Bon Jovi, Whitesnake etc) but I'm looking for other stuff. I'm currently pushing for love bites  It is a hair metal band after all

Round and Round by Ratt

Metal Health by Quiet Riot

Cherry Pie by Warrant

Up All Night by Slaughter (OK, it's not that bad... great chorus)

Seventeen by Winger.  Anything by Winger.

Maybe some Dokken, Poison, Mr Big.... the choice is endless.  Even some Danger Danger for Afghan Dave.

A'bunadh is great stuff, 60.4% but dangerously smooth.
Balvenie is also very nice, Dalwhinie also.
Ardbeg is definiteley one of my favourites tho.Obviously a man of taste........  :)

Should've posted the set list originally but I was kinda drunk, here goes

Van Halen - Hot for teacher (our drummer does this unbelievably well)
Motley crue - Home sweet home
Poison - Every rose
Motley crue's version of helter skelter
Lepperd - Animal and photograph
Skid row - 18 and life and Youth gone wild (love playing those)
Bon Jovi - Wanted, Hey god and keep the faith (don't own a talkbox so no prayer)
Guns n roses - Welcome to the Jungle (in case of encore )
Ted Nugent - Cat scratch fever
Kansas - the obvious one
Journey - Don't stop believing
Can't remember the rest

Gotta play some German stuff:

Accept - Balls to the Wall (or: Metal Heart)
Scorpions - Coming Home (or: The Zoo)

And then: Some Cinderella would be nice!
Tweaker's Paradise - Player's nightmare.

I was reading this thread as the advert came on, thats why I suggested :P
Personally I would put one of MCs faster songs on than Home Sweet Home

I would say:

Mr Big definitely needs to be in there somewhere. Addicted To That Rush or Green Tinted Sixties Mind

WASP - Wild Child!

Warrant - Cherry Pie (because people know it!)

Warlock - All We Are

Hmm, all W's...strange.

Get some AC/DC, Ugly Kid Joe, Nickelback if you like 'em,  Deep Purple, Thunder, Led Zep, Rainbow, Aerosmith, UFO (play some god damn UFO!), Queen, Gotthard, Springsteen, Rush, Thin Lizzy, The Who....that's quite a few to throw round!
'67 Gibson V w/ Rebel Yell -> Carlsboro PSA100

Arctic Fury
