G-Sharp
Really uncomplicated and easy to use. The sound quality is pretty good, and if you consider the price, excellent. Its not the highest quality fx processor i've ever used, but its very decent. noise level is low, and its (generally) clear and modern sounding. the great thing is you can get straight in and edit the effects and don't need to worry about a lot of deep menus - everything needed is available instantly. I like the classic spring reverb preset, with a touch of stereo chorus, adds a great extra dimension through my stereo power amp and two cabs. Doesn't sound too digital. Digital Village forgot to send the rack bag - it should be here tomorrow, more info about that then
PSA 1.1
My love of sansamp gear is well known. But even I must admit the main limitation in all their gear is that although responsive to pick attack, it never really cleans up when you roll the volume down. That point stated, I must say that the PSA1.1 is a really hi-fi and great sounding unit - the clearest of any sansamp gear i tried so far. Its a pure sansamp tone - although presets exist for many different amps, it always has that sansamp dimension - which i personally really like. midi switchable presets ought to make up for lack of volume pot clean up. It has the crushing high gain tones i've been looking for. very clear, modern and hifi sound. again, no menu system means all the controls are to hand on the front panel. it has fast responsive attack, and being all analogue, its zero latency. i also like that as the unit is solid state, and never gets too warm - also its not a deep rack unit, so my power amp retains cooling. it works really well with the deep switch on my marshall 20/20 - they make a good team. i got this item as a b-stock unit from digital village. i'm not sure its worth the RRP, but its absolutely worth the super-low price i paid. its well worth the secondhand price i reckon.
