Outro solo on 'The Ocean' by Led Zep?

Could anyone tell me what key jimmy page is soloing in on the outro solo to the ocean? I've just learnt the song but can't figure out what key the ending is in. Whatever I improvise over it doesn't seem to sound right. I'm not that great at music theory so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to remember it was D? but i might be wrong...

I fought with it a couple of years ago, and when I got it, it was a real "d'uh!" moment... it's just a really simple rock n roll idea... so simple, I've forgotten :lol:
