I saw them (Living Colour) support Anthrax in 1988 two nights on the trot at The Hammersith Odeon. They were great and he was the first shredder I had seen live at the time. I was about 5 rows in one night. Anthrax though were out of this world for me at that time!
I saw Anthrax/Living Colour on the same tour in Newcastle - my first gig 8)
That was my first Metal gig too! I remember walking out after the first night, speechless, like I had just been visited by a higher authority! How the hell did they play their guitars, drum so fast and hard? I went the next night too and my ears were ringing for days after that. The ticket price was around 8 quid a night. Would have been around 90p a pint too. Happy days! :D
I remember seeing Britny Fox on telly and I thought the singer had throat cancer or some shite. Can't say I liked them or Warrant. Motley Crue were good. You should have seen the amount of uber bitches at their gig at Wembley Arena in 1989! Great night, we had Skid Row and White Lion on the same bill and a guest appearance by Billy Idol with MC for the encore! 20 quid off a tout I payed for that. :D
On topic, Vernon reid had the multi coloured ESP. Scott Ian, ok they were thrash but had use of the same gear of the day, had an ESP with NOT past the 12 fret mark on the fret board but no frets higher than 12. Dan Spitz used RR Jackson V. Its got the same mid boost pre-amp as a model 6 Charvel. Which is why i bought one
When I were a lad.... I've become one of them!
