Hi, This is my first post. I'm rather puzzled, I can't see how humbuckers can sound like SRV or Gallagher.... what do you mean exactly?

I think tom's getting at the tone of two humbuckers in parallel, it's a touch thinner than either humbucker on its own, closer to a strat I suppose!

HI HJM,

I see... I have my LP wired out of phase when both pickups are on. I do get a slightly weaker signal with a bass roll-off but I love that sound and makes my guitar so much more versatile IMHO.

The sound has hollow mids, clear bass, and a sparkling top end. The quack is very stratty. It's cool for funky playing, blues, and even for chords and strumming, since the sound is similarly 'acoustic-like' as on a Strat with the neck and middle singles in parallel.
