you can also check the height and the side color of the magnet to know if it's a bridge cold sweat
ceramic will be dark grey, while alnico has a metallic appearance
also, the ceramic magnet bars used by Tim are thicker than the alnico bars, so you'll notice that it will be taller than the neck pickup

Eric,

I am not quite sure - the colour is not really dark grey nor is it "shiny" metallic. Is there any source for a picture of both magnets? That would be really helpful for the comparison.

In addition my multimeter appears to read low - I have to recheck the reading with my other meter.

Kind regards,
Stephan

Just to make sure, Stephan, PM me your email adress and I'll send you a scanned facsimile of the BKP invoice which I still have for both of the pickups (which indeed are a HD and a CS just as I sold them to you on the bay).

Yesterday I put a 4 conductor wire on the bridge pickup and reversed the magnet so I can use it for the 5 way rotary switch on the PRS Custom. I noticed that the sides of the magnet are shiny metallic and not dark grey. I am no longer in doubt that the magnet is an Alnico. Hence I now believe the pickup is a Holy Diver.

Cheers Stephan
