Played a roadworn 50 Tele today

Amazing guitar. The relicing looked very good actually, custom shop quality I'd say. The guitar was super light and resonated well, played and sounded great too. Unfortunately, the pre-release model they had on display was sold already. Next batch comes in May, guess I'll try some more then.

Real good value this!!

Interesting - I really like the look of these - I think the relicing on the maple boards is a bit suspect but other than that they look great.

Has the tele got a big neck?

I'm not a specialist, but I would say quite middle of the road, it was less big than my Baja's, and it felt more meaty than my MusicMan Axis.

I've not seen anyone do a good job of "relicing" maple boards, it never looks like the real thing.

I've played a few of the Road Worn Tele's now, and they look cool as hell, there are subtle differences between the relicing of different models and they sound great...

BUT, they are selling like hot cakes and quite frankly I like my guitar to be 'a bit different' and don't want to turn up to a gig with 'my great new telecaster' and see everyone with the same one!  :(

I'd have to disagree with you on the quality of the distressing when comparing them to the top line CS guitars. They have a formulaic feel to the wear and I think the ageing of the maple fretboards on the ones I've tried is odd to say the least. However they are great playing guitars and I'm tempted to trade something in for one of the 60s' ones, but the similarity between them is to uniform for me, so I think I'll continue saving up for that CS strat I'm hankering after.

Thanks Hunter!

Its all relative with these guitars though as the CS heavy relics are £2k and these are £6-£700. I like the idea of the relics but Im not a massive fender fan or tele user come to that but as a sunday afternoon noodling guitar I think they're great (i sound like tony the tiger)
