I'm not a big fan of cricket or particularly clued up on the duckworth-lewis rule but this made me laugh:

I think I hate being indecisive.

... I didn't understand a word of that.

I think that Douglas Adams was right about Cricket Lore being rooted deeply in ancient galactic history...

Oh yeah, a wicket makes a big difference to a D/L par score...

Total nob-head to have forgtten that - what's he usually doing when he's watching a run chase?

Surely the minute the wicket fell he should have been going "what's the revised score?", ESPECIALLY if the weather was looking bad and he was thinking of pulling them off if it was offered...

Sack him

Foolish and amusing mistake that it was, it is also in many ways depressing as we [England] have been waiting for a win for something like 14 matches ... then when one does arrive its due to utter stupidity on the opposing coaches behalf and therefore doesn't really count :-(

Utter foolishness by the Windies Management though ... reminds me of that world cup semi final match where Pollock took a dot ball of the last ball of the game thinking they'd won, only to discover they were actually tied and therefore out of the competition ... That one did make me laugh :-)

Maybe we should just drop the men and start watching (scary) womens cricket as they are all conquering 3 times world champions.

While the men have to reply on the substandard mathmatical skills of asecond rate australian!

Quote from West Indies captain:

===========
Gayle said the players had quickly forgiven Dyson.

"He was looking in the wrong column. He explained it to us and apologised for that mistake," he added.

"No one wants to make this sort of mistake and I'm not going to kill him or anything like that. There is no reason to point any fingers at this point in time. We're here as a team and we'll go down as a team."

I've just spent the morning debating whether to fill out the form to book my pavilion tickets for the Oval
Test against the Aussies... having already paid for the privilege to be guaranteed the seats if I want to buy them...

In the end I decided I'd probably regret it if I didn't, so I coughed up the dough... You better not let me down chaps...
(Especially as I could have paid for a set of Yardbirds, and then some, instead  :?)

And a big congrats to the Ladies :D
