Forgive me Father, I have sinned too :( 8)
Meet 'Slash' and 'Mac' - my two main gigging guitars with Doppelganger. You've seen Slash before, Mac was a new purchase a few weeks ago. Both are PRS McCarty Rosewoods, with solid Indian Rosewood necks, in McCarty Burst. Slash, with birds, has black VHIIs. Mac, with moons, has zebra Holydivers (courtesy of Simon D here on the forum - cheers mate!). Slash came from Coda Music and Mac from Stringsdirect (Holiday Music). Mac was on offer at a great price, and as I'd decided McCarty Rosewoods were for me, I couldn't resist finishing off my live rig :D
Slash is normally used in standard tuning, Mac in drop D. Depending on the sound in the room on the night, I might swap the tunings over as they do sound a bit different (VHIIs vs HDs). Slash's top is very classy, with very even flame and looks consistent from all angles. Mac's is much more vintage, and looks almost plain at times and highly figured at others (it's hard to capture the differences in photographs, but in the flesh it's lovely). Mac's rosewood neck is alos a fair bit darker and feels a touch more oily.
Both have been rewired to '50s spec' with regard to how the tone control is attached to the volume pot. Mac has had a new CTS volume pot fitted as the original PRS one gave up the ghost during the pickup swap. Both have coil splits (to the screw coils) via the push/pull tone controls.
I guess the username becomes ever more appropriate now! (Even though it refers to my love of V-twin motorbikes....)
