It's really good, the selection is pretty big too, which is nice for checking out artists, and for when i'm too lazy to go and get the CD from the shelf :)

I'm sure that will change in time. The record companys are apparently giving it their blessing so hopefully it won't die 'cos of some legal bollocks.

AMAZING!! Thanks guys :D

Tom, you're just too bluddy young

There's tons of stuff on there that I want to hear.

An hour or so ago I was in tears listening to Glen Campbell's version of "If you go away" - I haven't heard that since I was 12 or so, and I know every word, every inflexion...

And then we found...

Bobby Goldsboro - Honey
Andrew Gold - Never Let Her Slip Away
Le Chic - Le Freak
Lindisfarne - Run for Home
Manfred Mann - Davey's on the Road Again, Pretty Flamingo
The Searchers - Needles and Pins
The Loving Spoonful - Darling Be Home Soon

the list goes on and on, and I haven't heard these things for YEARS...

This is monster...

Bit of an omission though - no Frog Chorus :(
(actually there are several "Frog Chorus", but they all really are, er,  choruses of frogs, or a bunch of Green Berets singing some sort of marching song )

No Beatles material or so I heard on the news.

I've had a line-out of the laptop into my stereo all day, you don't even need an ipod now!

You'll need more than a moment 38th!

I registered, er, when Alan Whicker had just started - er, 2 hours ago, after searching for songs I remember from when I was at school, I moved on to finding all sorts of stuff that I'd meant to check out soon...

The missus was vaguely impressed, but I think she's given up and gone to bed

I think I need to do the same...

I've had a line-out of the laptop into my stereo all day, you don't even need an ipod now!

Lots of McCartney, Harrison, Starr...

No Beatles (doesn't worry me, I got them all), and no Lennon apart from lots of interviews...

Hmmm... some sort of pattern I feel?

It's superb, but I have to go to bed...

EDIT: I lied - not much Harrison neither - looks like it's all tribute stuff and interviews... (sorry Yoko, if you thought I was implying anything!)

Spotify is excellent! Love the interface. Even works in Ubuntu through Wine quite nicely.

Paid for the first month, now using the free version with some semi-annoying ads between songs every now and then.

I didn't continue the paid subscription since some of the music I already had listened to disappareard a while back. For example, all but one Arch Enemy album disappeared. No Floyd or Zappa. No Sikth or Textures - but plenty of Meshuggah etc.

Found plenty of new bands through Spotify, and re-discovered old ones. Great stuff all in all.
