Haven't been on CFH for YEARS but I thought i'd check out some shred licks again to get the chops back up and I'm really digging this one..

Good Luck.

Lol.   Reminds me of the other guitarist in my band who often starts off a conversation with "this is really interesting ...". His monologue then progresses, including words such as "dorian" and "mixolydian". He then starts masturbating in front of me on his guitar.
I have usually lost interested by the time he reaches the word "interesting".

More power to those of you who have the focus to appreciate this stuff, though !

+1 - Sometimes wish I had a greater turn of speed but must admit I find many of these superfast shredding licks sound like the sound effects you used to get on the early 'space invaders' arcade games  :).   Still all credit to those who are disciplined enough to practise to get to these sorts of speeds.

Yes, credit to the guy for putting in the practice , and kudos for ability - but he could have learned to arrange some great Jazz 'standards'  instead ...  8)

Zoinks!

;)

Mm. Everything sounds best to be when it's linked together by crazy shred licks; the best examples of this I can think of are Joe Satriani and Steve Morse.

God I hope I'll be able to play that kind of thing someday ._.

I do that :D
Except, to my keyboardist.
And I'm not very good at the guitar masturbation thing yet. Oh well.

Keep up the practice and I'm sure you'll get there !

BTW, take it easy on your long-suffering keyboard player. Everyone has their limits, he probably just wants to make a bit of music.
