**bugger meant to put this in the dressing room not time out sorry**
I have been having problems with my right ear for while now constantly getting infections and my hearing steadly getting worse and worse till at present I have very little hearing at all in my right ear.
I have finally been given the reason why, I have a type of benign tumor in my middle ear which is stopping the ear drum and little bones conducting the sound. The tumor also destroys the bones in the middle ear.
The only way to sort it out is to remove it... this is the bit that is scaring me, I am absolutely bricking it. :(
To do this they drill a big hole though my skull into my middle ear and scoop every thing out. They are going to do this next Monday
I have been given only 50/50 of regaining my hearing from this operation, might need to let them do the same thing in a years time after they are sure it's not come back to replace the little bones with plastic ones.
To make matters worse I was meant to be leaving the country in two weeks time to go traveling for a year+ with my redundancy money and have therefore moved out of my flat. I have been told that I would not be able to fly for a least 2 months after the operation and that it would be a very bad idea to try and leave it till after I get back due to the likelyhood of the following, deafness, facial paralysis, abscess on the brain and of course death (which happens to be the same as the possible side effects of the operation)
One thing is making me laugh though:lol:, I was made redundant at the end of Feb but technically i am still employed and on gardening leave so the company medical cover is still in place therefore they are going to pay the 10k+ it is going to cost to go private so I don't have to wait to get it done.
So to sum up I have no job, no home, and they want to drill a hole in my head and they are telling me its for the best.
On the plus side, I don't have to go to work, I'm going to live for free at my parents while I recover, and build a new guitar while I recover.
