I only know the pentatonic scale and can work my way round it to get some major-sounding licks going, but theory is alien to me.  I play by instinct and by ear, nothing else.

I like Abba too, and Def Leppard (I'm going through a bit of a hair-metal phase - Motley Crue have some killer riffage).  Equally though, I'm on a massive grindcore kick too - General Surgery have some NASTY tunes.

I like it and load.

If you try to forget all that went before, they're just good-times rock/metal albums.

They suffer from Alien 3 syndrome. Alien 3 was a good film, it just had to follow the first two, which are awesome, so it looked worse than it was.

Oh, theres another - I like alien 3. And both, yes BOTH avp films :P

I might change the name of the syndrome to Load Syndrome though.

However, St Anger was garbage, and I'm liking Death Masternetic less and less.

OK I confess - last month I bought (probably) the plainest PRS ever made - a satin finish Standard 24 - absolutely no bling! All mahogany, "Poo Brown" as PhillyQ calls it, 24 frets with trem (which Twinfan hates). Love it (Cold Sweats added) and feel I don't have to wear kid gloves to play it ....

Nothing much wrong with that, even the poo brown colour.  I'm not crazy about the satin finishes, but I can see the utilitarian appeal, I guess.

It's not the 20th anniversary one with the mini bird inlays, though, is it?  I prefer moons...

 Yeah, I can relate to that too!   But I found AvP2 boring - and more than that it was just too dark, impossible to tell what was going on most of the time!

No - it's 2006 - birds but not the 'whispy' ones. Must say I am impressed with the build quality - stays in tune over the whole neck whatever you do with the tremelo, volume and tone controls work very well, single coil and/or low volume settings give a good clean sound (partly due to Cold Sweats). Nice neck but not quite as fast as my 1989 Les Paul Standard (ignoring  the higher frets!)

I used to have a serious aversion to ABBA (not that I like them now)

In primary school they tried to force us to dance to it. I sat in the corner with the hands over my ears and refused and called it torture.

I don't know why either... I'd never heard of them before at all. It was something to do with their voices, I still hate it.

I had my first bunk up with Elton John's Saturday Night's (Alright For Fighting) playing in the background on the pirate station Lazer 558 am. Her name Was Deb. Deb The Dog!   It was her 1st time too  Oh it was yesterday in case your wondering when. I thought I'd get that one in before the inevitable joker got there first!
This could be a new thread subject, or not!

I read " I had my first bunk-up with Elton.." and for a micro second was a little concerned that Elton would have perhaps used and abused you Johnny but read on and saw that it was Deb the dog though I am not sure if that is a relief.
