I was looking at getting a Monster Cable to connect my axe to my amp. So bassically I was wondering if any of you guys had any experiance with them, and also if you could recommend which one is best.

I use a 5m monster cable between my guitar and pedal board. It sounds good and the weight of the cable hangs just right and doesn't kink or get in the way too much. I recently A/Bd it with a George L. The George L was noticably brighter and louder but it depends what you want - my amp is quite bright anyway so I may continue with the monster.

Nope.  8)

I use Spectraflex and Planet Waves though, and I can say that they sound pretty good. I notice the difference between them and the cheaper cables my friends use.

I use Monster Rock for the guitar to the pedals, and Monster Keyboard from the pedals to the amp.  The keyboard is a very neutral cable.  I also use Monster Bass on my basses

I have both Monster and Whirlwind speaker cables for my cabs, and I prefer the Monster for short runs, the Whirlwind for long runs. I also have ProCo speaker cables that are real garbage!

Most of my instrument cable is Synergistic Research for recording, and whatever I can get my hand on for live use, tho I'm partial to Whirlwind between my pedals and "DiMarzio" cables at the begining and end of the chain.

I was looking at getting a 10 foot (if they have that size?) Rock Cable, with one angled and one straight jack. Anyone know where the cheapest place in the UK is that stocks Monster Cables?

www.stringsdirect.co.uk stocks them. i'm still cynical about these, especially about the differences between a "rock cable" and a "bass cable". surely a quality cable is a quality cable, end of story?

The constuction of the Rock and Bass is really different.  I was very dubious until I tried the Bass, and I could really hear the difference.  That's what made me get the Rock and Keyboard cables.

The other guitarist in my band has just bought two Monster cables and you can hear a huge difference to what he had before. They really cleaned up his sound, seemed to take a bit of gain off and put loads of high end on, I myself didn't like them at all or his tone.
I like the Planet Waves stuff, especially the cable with built in circuit breaker.

I've just got a Lava Cable and a Monster Rock to test along side my usual George L. I have to say, the George L is the loues and brightest, but the midrange seems scooped compared to the other two.

The Monster is a bit darker and has less volume, and has the most midrange, but good bass too.

The Lava sits in between, similar level to the George L, but less treble, more bass and more pf themonsters midrange.

So...George L seams the loudest and brightest, good for driving effects, not so good with brighter amps. I originally started using George Ls with Line 6 amps, and the extra brightness really helped with these early Line 6 amps. And it sounds the best with Guitar Port too.

The monster is great with the JCM800, it's a bright amp so the increased mid range and strong bass with reduced treble work a treat. Not so good clean, a bit dark.

The Lava has the most potential as an all-rounder. Good treble keeps clean sparkling, and increased bass and mids over the George L drive the amp well.

This is just on an initial couple of hours, and tested in a studio not on stage!

Monster gold tips all the way for me.....I use nothing else nor will I.  I use the straight tips and if I need to connect any pedals I use the angled ones.  I love them and feel they are the best for me.  I have tried a bunch of different cables and these do it for me.  Mogami is a good cable as well.......
With all great rewards come potentially greater risks...Dare to believe.
