I wan't sure what a McCarty was (=n00b) so I did a google and low I came up with a site that told me where they came from and that .......seems like the Ed Roman has a bee in his bonnet!

Also looked at this which is people who actually own the PRS RW and is a much better link for you NGD amazing axe by the looks of these reviews as well as all the peeps here who own one

Ed Roman is considered by many to be a total p*ick. I don't think any musical instrument manufacturer has not had a 'rant' aimed at them. He also has a reputation for very bad customer service. I'm sure there are good stories out there about him but there are too many horror stories for my liking.

Personally I would completely ignore whatever he says about anything and prolly woudn't post a link to this 'rant' on to a thread about a new guitar.

Well done Gizmo - looking forward to seeing those pics!

Ed Roman is the biggest jerk in the whole music industry.

His custom shop runs on nothing more than ripping off designs, he's absolute scum, and his arguments are always full of venom and bile, and more often than not lack any logic or substance whatsoever.

I love his argument about neck pickup positioning, and the so called sweet spot. He entirely misses the point that when you fret a note, the position of the nodes and anodes in the waveform move...

I don't think there is a single item you can buy that someone somewhere doesn't think is rubbish. At the end of the day everyone  needs to make their own opinion if you like it no one else matters - unless you perform and the audience think its cr@p !!!  :D

You could have made something up! He has a bad enough reputation for us to believe anything you said.

I guess that's the same with music as well as the instruments to make it.

Congrats.

I was thinking my next purchase would be a Gibson LP Custom Shop, but I'm hearing so many good things about PRS's at the moment, I might change my mind (plenty of time, I have extactly £0 saved up for it :) )

Hmmm, methinks a 245 in smokeburst, that would be SWEET!

Tempting... although I prefer the Black Sunburst I think. And I guess if I went PRS it would be a Modern Eagle or McCarty rather than a LP copy.

Gizmo,

You sure you bought a McCarty model?  Or a McCarty Burst Custom 22?

Nice choice either way  :)
