Anyone see The Specials on the box?
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:24:41 PM »
They were on Jools Hollands telly program last Friday. Most of the original line up are back together again. Jerry Dammers isn't though, sounds like he isn't too happy about it either.

Anyway I thought they sounded great  :D

I saw it - just slightly before my time but enjoyed it! The Yeah Yeah Yeah's were pretty awful though. I really don't get these supposed 'cool' bands. Maybe I am getting old.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I thought they weren't too clever either or Franz Ferdinand, they were shitee!

The Specials were a fantastic band, I loved Ska when I was kid.

That really surprises me Hunter. Quite a lot in fact.

And Johnny - I agree that Franz Ferdinand were awful as well. All of their stuff sounds the same. [violent mode] And the singer needs a smack in the mouth[/violent mode].

I thought the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were meh - their first album was tasty, but ever since I've been left cold.
The specials were AWESOME, and Franz Ferdinand were AWFUL, but had probably the best guitar tone I've ever heard in my life - I need to get me one of those Carr Amps!

Better start saving then! They are f§$%&/(ing expensive.

I played one once, and it was nice though. Nice at a 1w setting!

They do sound like nice amps but they seriously need to think about a name change. When said quickly it sounds like something a mechanic would use (or a thief!)

I liked the Yeah Yeah Yeahs .

I heard one of their songs on a film soundtrack the other week and really liked it - but it might be one of those cases where I'd hate all their other stuff....
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
